Strawberry Mint Smoothie Recipe
Strawberry Mint Smoothie Recipe
Summer is coming and it's time to start getting that "summer body" ready. It's way to easy for many of us to momentarily forget about bathing suit season. Smoothies are a great way to get fruits and vegetables into your system. What's easier than taking a bunch of delicious foods and mixing them up in a blender with some ice? In my opinion, almost nothing. I love a good smoothie on a warm summer or spring morning followed up with a little bit of gardening... Ahh, that's the life!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup strawberries (~9 oz)
- 1 banana
- 1 apple (whatever variety you prefer)
- 5- 10 leaves peppermint (leave a couple for decoration)
- 1 tbsp lime juice (or lemon juice)
- 1/2 cup water or orange juice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- ice cubes
- 1 scoop of Berry Flavored Super Food Blend
Directions
- Rinse all the strawberries. Core the apple. Peel your banana.
- Place all ingredients into a blender or Nutribullet. Personally I find the Nutribullet perfect for 1 person. Its not as bulky as a big blender and its easier to fit the containers in the dishwasher or just screw a cap on the Nutribullet container and put it in the fridge for later.
- Blend all ingredients until mixture is drinkable. Some people prefer more ice, some people don't like as much ice. Remember, you can always add more ice but once it's added you can't take it out!
- Serve and enjoy! Garnish with a slice of strawberry or a fresh mint leaf if you're feeling fancy!
